Meet The Owners....

Foxglove Cottage is a small, family-run business in the heart of West Cork, run by husband and wife team, Matt and Anna.

Matt, originally from the Scottish Highlands has over 20+ years working in carpentry and building luxury homes.

As well as working on land, Matt also spent some years working at sea on super yachts. He even made his way up to be a Captain.

Working in such luxury and stylish surroundings on yachts, helped to inspire design ideas for his building projects. Foxglove Cottage is testament to that. Matt has put so much thought and learnt knowledge into design approaches to really create that 'wow' factor, both inside and the cottage.

Anna, from Ireland has worked everywhere from Australia to Antarctica and almost everywhere in between. From youth worker to sheep farmer, divemaster to caravan cafe owner!

She also spent a few years working on superyachts working as a stewardess, divemaster and chef, learning that sometimes it is the smallest thoughtful detail that can elevate guests' experience from a good stay to a GREAT stay!

Anna loves to bake. Rest assured, if you choose to stay a Foxglove Cottage there will be some sort of baked goodie to welcome you after your trip to West Cork!

Matt and Anna met on yachts, but it wasn’t until they were both back on dry land - both living in Scotland - that they REALLY met and began their new journey together.

Since then, they decided to move back to Ireland and call West Cork their home. They are proud parents to a wonderful little boy called Charlie, a friendly dog called Rua and a sweet little cat called Ùna.

Creating Foxglove Cottage has been something Matt and Anna have been dreaming about doing for some time.

They have put their absolute hearts and souls into creating it and are so excited that their dream has finally come to fruition.
